Getting Ready for the summer – Garden Clearance Services
When the spring flowers are all around and the weather starts to warm up, it’s time to start getting your garden ready for summer. This way you’ll be able to make the most of your outdoor space by the time summer arrives.
Tidying up
Start with weeds and lawn
Getting rid of weeds before they take hold will help your summer to be more relaxing and also makes your flower beds look instantly tidier. Mowing the lawn is also an instant facelift for your garden, especially if you trim the edges too, so that it looks nice and neat. Remember not to cut the lawn too short though, as it needs a bit of length to withstand any hot and dry spells, and dried out patches can be a real eyesore.
Planting and pots
Check your plant pots and containers and either repair or put aside any broken ones. You can always give old and worn looking containers a facelift with a lick of paint if you don’t want to replace them. Dump out any dead plants into the compost.
It will then be easier to see what plants you need to buy for those pots that are still empty as well as for bare patches in the garden beds. Once you’ve planted these up your garden will already be much lusher and brighter.
Clearing out
Garden furniture, parasols and barbeques
Once summer arrives you’re going to want to relax in the garden and enjoy barbeques and al fresco meals, so check that all your garden furniture, parasols and barbeques are still in good shape and give them a good clean if necessary. Put aside any broken items that need to be cleared away.
Sorting out the shed
If you’re lucky enough to have a shed, now is the time to sort it out, before it gets too hot. Empty everything out and put aside anything that is broken or no longer needed. When putting things back, keep the things that you’re going to use the most over the summer near the front and easily accessible.
